On March 20, 2024, a confirmation letter reached the editorial office of AME Medical Journal (AMJ) (Figure 1) that the journal met the selection criteria necessary to be included in the Emerging Sources Citation Index. Articles published in AMJ after 2022, beginning with Vol 7, will be included in Emerging Sources Citation Index.

The Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) is a citation index produced since 2015 by Thomson Reuters and now by Clarivate. According to the publisher, the index includes "peer-reviewed publications of regional importance and in emerging scientific fields" (1). Journals in ESCI have passed an initial editorial evaluation and can continue to be considered for inclusion in products such as SCIE, SSCI, and AHCI (1). All ESCI journals are indexed according to the same data standards, including cover-to-cover indexing, cited reference indexing, subject category assignment, and indexing all authors and addresses (1).
Launched in January 2016, AME Medical Journal (ISSN 2520-0518; AME Med J; AMJ) is an international, Open Access, peer-reviewed journal, aiming at promoting developments in the medical field (Figure 2). The mission of AMJ is to provide high-quality evidence to guide clinical decision making for better global health outcomes. On May 13, 2021, AMJ was accepted for inclusion in Scopus.

The journal has presented contributions from international authors (Figure 5), and its pageviews have exhibited a consistent increase since 2017 (Figure 6). No doubt we will continue to strive to publish high-quality articles and bring AMJ to the forefront.
