abstract = {Endobronchial ultrasound guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is a validated technique for sampling of lymph nodes and masses lying near the central airways. Recently, EBUS transbronchial needle injection (TBNI) has been used to deliver cisplatin into locoregionally recurrent lung cancer in a previously radiated field. This review addresses prior series and case studies that have evaluated the role of EBUS-TBNI delivered cisplatin. We then address the role of EBUS-TBNI delivered cisplatin for the treatment of locoregionally recurrent lung cancer in a previously radiated field and its place within the current paradigm of lung cancer care. Finally, the many current challenges and opportunities are introduced.},
