Prof. Dr. Nahum Méndez-Sánchez. He is a Doctor of Medicine specialized in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Professor of Master and PhD programs at the School of Medicine National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).  He obtaining his Medical, Masters and PhD degrees at UNAM School of Medicine UNAM and Post-doctorate at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital & Harvard University, United States of America. He is the Past-President of both Mexican Association of Hepatology and Latin American Association for the Study of Liver. Also the past Governor of American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) for Mexico. Founding Editor of Annals of Hepatology (2002–2018) and Member of the Advisory Board of the Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology and American Journal of Gastroenterology. Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Translational Hepatology. Editorial Board of the World Journal of Gastroenterology and editor of the National Academic of Medicine Bulletin of Mexico. He is Fellow of the American Association for Study of Liver Diseases, American Association of Gastroenterology, and the American College of Gastroenterology. Among his multiple awards stands out the EASL International Recognition Award-2021. Professor Méndez-Sánchez has a long-lasting research interest in gastroenterology and hepatology, his research lines include Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, Liver fibrosis, bilirubin and acids metabolism as well as obesity. In scientific production terms, is author of 20 published books. Co-author of more 200 chapters in National and International books and 347 scientific publications at PubMed.
