Research interests: all aspects of general thoracic surgery including thoracic oncology, minimally invasive thoracic surgery, robotic surgery, pectus repair and therapy for end-stage lung disease including lung transplantation

Dr Ohtsuka is the professor, head of the division of thoracic surgery at the Jikei University. After completing his medical education at Keio University, he pursued general surgical residency and thoracic surgery fellowship at Keio University hospital. During the time, he also obtained a Sanshi-kai Award from the Keio University to study minimally invasive thoracic surgery. He then continued as a thoracic surgical fellowship at the University of Michigan completing in 2010.

Dr. Ohtsuka's clinical interests include all aspects of general thoracic surgery including thoracic oncology, minimally invasive thoracic surgery, robotic surgery, pectus repair and therapy for end-stage lung disease including lung transplantation. His academic interests include function of metalloprotease in thoracic malignancies, ameliorating rejection after lung transplantation.
