From 1 December 2021 to present, I’m Associate Professor, at the Department of Medical, Oral and Biotechnological Sciences, University of Chieti-Pescara, Chieti, Italy and Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine and Emergency, SS. Annunziata Hospital, Chieti, Italy. My clinical work is focused on general Intensive Care and Anesthesia.
I received my accreditation as Full Professor in Anesthesia and Intensive Care in February 2023, and as Associate Professor in March 2017. From 2002 to 2009, I was on the sub-specialty staff for cardiothoracic critical care and anesthesia, which provided clinical services for a broad range of cardiothoracic surgery, cardiac transplantation and mechanical assist device management.
From October 2009 to November 2021, I was on the sub-specialty staff for Liver Transplantation and Post-transplant Unit. From 2016 Scientific Director of the Lung Ultrasound Certified Course for the Italian Society of Anesthesia, Analgesia Resuscitation and Intensive Care. I got my MD – Magna cum laude from the University of Chieti Medical School in 1998, passed Italian National Board Exam from the University of Udine Medical School in 1999, and was a Specialist in Anesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Therapy in the University of Udine Medical School.
My researches include Education & Teaching, Clinical Research, Lung Ultrasound in Critical Care and Anesthesia, Cardiac Ultrasound in Critical Care and Anesthesia, Transesophageal Echocardiography, Fluid Management in Critical Care and Anesthesia, and Medical Administration. I serve as an Associated Editor and Editorial Board Member for serval journals including Journal of Anesthesia and Critical Care, BMC Anesthesiology, The Ultrasound Journal, and World Journal of Anesthesiology.
